Global Cares

Since 1997, Global Village Backpackers has supported many youth charities. Some of these include Canada World Youth, Operation Go Home, War Child and Youth Challenge.

In October 2005, Global Village Backpackers raised $750 at an event for War Child Canada. War Child works across the world to help children affected by war. 

< At a fundraiser last winter, backpackers bought enough drinks in one evening to send Kenyan student Kristine to trade school for two years!

Toronto's largest youth hostel also sponsored a tattoo contest at the Algonquin College Spring Fundraiser. All proceeds went to Operation Go Home, a charity which helps homeless youth get off the streets.

When you choose to stay at Global Village Backpackers, a portion of your overnight fee goes to a charitable organization chosen each year by GVB staff.
